Mandarin Quarter is devoted to provide the best language learning experience to you. This policy details these terms and conditions of our services.

Minimum Age

The minimum age for all our courses is 18. By accessing our website, or registering to or attending our courses / events, you agree that you are 18 years or older.


Group Classes

Course Registration

Some of our courses require you to have prior knowledge of the Mandarin language. Please read our course information carefully to ensure you understand the requirements. If you have any questions regarding registration requirements, please contact us prior to registration. We may not be able to transfer you to a different course after your registration is confirmed.

Fees and Payments

All course fees are non-refundable unless the course is cancelled by Mandarin Quarter (see Section 2.3). Once your course registration is confirmed and payment is made, no refunds will be permitted.

Subject to availability, we may be able to transfer to a different course, however this is not guaranteed. You may be required to pay a difference in fees before the transfer is agreed.

Change of Course Details

Mandarin Quarter reserves the right to change the details of a course and to cancel classes or close them early if necessary.

  • Course Cancelation – In the event aht a course is cancelled before the advertised start date, an alternative course or a full refund will be offered.
  • Early Termination – if a course is terminated the advertised finsh date, an alternative course  or a partial refund will be offered.
  • Change of Course Details – We are unable to grant a refund on the grounds of a change of tutor or venue.

Student Attendance

Mandarin Quarter cannot make any reduction on course fees if a student cannot attend the full course.

Unforeseen Circumstances

In an event of unforeseen circumstances (e.g. weather, disaster, strike etc) where lesson cannot be conducted, Mandarin Quarter will arrange the class on an alternative date. However we cannot compensate for any personal expenses or non-attendance due to the re-arrangement.


Private Tuition

We understand flexibility is important to students taking private tuition and we will try our best to provide the services you need.

We usually assign the same tutor to a student to ensure continuity. However, if the tutor assigned to you becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to change the tutor.

All bookings and cancellations must be arranged through our offices. You can contact us by  email during office hour (9am – 5pm Monday to Friday). Emails received outside office hours will be acknowledged on the next working day.

You must inform us of any change of booking you wish to make at least 24-hours before the start of the class. You must inform us of a change to a Monday class by Saturday 12:00 noon. Any class postponed or cancelled  less than 24-hour notice will be charged at full rate.

Private tuition payments must be made to Mandarin Quarter via bank transfer. Our staff and  teachers do not accept cash or cheque payments. If you wish to make payments via alternative method, please contact our staff via phone or email.

We require payment in advance of the start of the private tuition programme. For continuous tuition, monthly payment is possible. Please speak to our staff before booking your private tuition programme.



We host regular events, including taster sessions, conversation practice sessions and social events. These events are free and open to students and general public. The purpose of the events is to provide practising opportunities for learners and to build a learners’ support community. In order to provide the best experience to every attendant, we reserve the right to reject  or remove due to misbehaviour, unauthorised commercial activities or if we consider the event is not suitable for your level. Rejecting attendance is a rare occurrence and we will always provide an explanation. If you wish to discuss this matter, you can contact our staff at anytime.

We will, to our best ability, provide a good event experience to you. However, you should be noted that these events are open to public and we will not be responsible for the behaviour of other attendants.

We may cancel or change the details of these events due to unforeseen circumstances. In that case, we will try our best to give you as possible. Please check our website or your email prior to attendance for any notification.


Intellectual Property

At Mandarin Quarter we develop our own teaching material for most classes and events.We own and control the copyrights and other intellectual property rights of our teaching material and website contents. You may use these contents for learning purposes. However, you must not redistribute, republish, sell or use the material for commercial purposes without prior written consent.


Complaints and Feedback

We value your opinions and will take your feedback and complaints seriously. We conduct regular survey to ensure your feedback is collected and acted upon as soon as possible.
